Lovi Poe to join 'Game of Thrones' star Maisie Williams in new thriller film

Lovi Poe continues to expand her international presence as she is now set to star with Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams in an upcoming thriller project.

In a report by Variety, Poe and Williams have been tapped to star in a "high-concept thriller" film called Ignition that's directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker James Erskine.

Actor Rory Kinnear, known for starring in various James Bond films, will also join the cast.

The news outlet detailed that Ignition will see Williams playing Sylvie Johnson, a woman "whose drive to London is thrown into chaos when an anonymous caller informs her that a bomb has been planted in her car."

"Trapped and cut off from any outside help, Sylvie is forced to follow the terrorist’s instructions, her every move watched, and with no choice to deliver the ticking bomb to its target — the Royal Albert Hall. Sylvie must confront her deepest secrets, use all her wits to survive and uncover why, of all people, she’s been entangled in this elaborate terror plot," the synopsis read.

According to Erskine, the film was shot using a "live cinema" approach, which is touted to capture the action with "maximum immediacy and authenticity."

As the scenes were filmed in real locations and on live roads, the production relied on pre-rigged, remotely operated multi-camera systems to capture the action without a visible crew, allowing the performances to unfold naturally.

"I wanted the audience to feel completely inside Sylvie’s experience as events unfold, capturing a sense of immediacy and psychological pressure that builds in real time. It creates the ideal platform for Maisie Williams’s extraordinary central performance," Erskine explained.

In an Instagram post, Poe gushed that she is "so excited" to finally share this film she's been working on.

"Ignition's first look is out now—being introduced at Cannes this May. Can’t wait," she wrote. "Oh, and by the way… the North remembers. Had to bring a little Game of Thrones energy."

Details on other cast members as well as the film's release date have yet to be disclosed.

This isn't the first time that Poe has co-starred in an international film. She previously joined the cast of the international indie film Bad Man, where she shared the screen with Seann William Scott, who rose to fame for his role in the American Pie franchise, and Johnny Simmons, who gained recognition for Jennifer's Body, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

She is also set to work with 13 Reasons Why star Timothy Granaderos for the psychological horror film titled The Sacrifice, alongside Enchong Dee.
