Lovi Poe, Enchong Dee to star with '13 Reasons Why' actor Timothy Granaderos in new psychological horror
Ready to see Lovi Poe and Enchong Dee delve into a psychological horror project with 13 Reasons Why star Timothy Granaderos?
On her Instagram account, Lovi shared a report from Deadline that she has now begun filming a psychological horror film titled The Sacrifice, which is set entirely in the Philippines.
She also posted behind-the-scenes pictures and videos of herself with Enchong, Timothy, and the rest of the cast and crew, describing them as a "powerhouse team."
The news outlet detailed that the work is being directed by Prime Cru, from an original screenplay penned by Jerrold Tarog. Prime is known for helming The Woman in Unit 23B and Sleepless, while Jerrold is prominent for directing Heneral Luna and Goyo: The Boy General.
The story centers on a group of travel vloggers who find themselves in a remote village haunted by ancient rituals and a terrifying legend.
According to the report, the Film Development Council of the Philippines is backing the film.
Timothy, whose father is Filipino, joins the project following the recent completion of production on the upcoming thriller Ascent. He is best known for portraying Montgomery de la Cruz in the Netflix teen drama series 13 Reasons Why.
Also in the cast are Pokwang and veteran filmmaker Lav Diaz, who helmed the upcoming historical drama film Magellan.
Details on the film's release date have yet to be unveiled, but Lovi teased that "more cast members and familiar faces" will be announced soon.
This isn't the first time that the actress has co-starred with an international actor.
She previously joined the cast of the international indie film Bad Man, where she will be sharing the screen with Seann William Scott, who rose to fame for his role in the American Pie franchise as well as for the films Final Destination and Ice Age, and Johnny Simmons, who gained recognition for Jennifer's Body, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
The action-comedy film is said to have been inspired by a true story and will center on a wild man state cop who arrives in a small town with a big meth problem. He then comes into conflict with a straight-laced local deputy but is forced to work with him to solve a murder mystery.
Lovi had also been cast in an upcoming film by American producer-director Garry A. Brown, who produced and directed multiple seasons of the TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
