Published Sep 10, 2023 1:16 pm

After naming some of his chickens Marites, Adobo, and Tinola, Bretman Rock came up with funny names for his two pet turtles, which were inspired by much-loved Filipino comedians Mahal and Mura.

In his latest TikTok video, the 25-year-old Fil-Am content creator had the two creatures race to a flower at the finish line.

“The first one to touch this flower wins. We’ve got Mahal on the right, Mura on the left," Bretman said. He later yelled some hilarious motivational words for his two pets, such as "Okay, Mura, you better be f—king sprinting, b*tch!" and "Pick it the f—k up, Mahal!"

Mura emerged as the winner after a couple of minutes.

His viral video was met with hilarious reactions from social media users, with many of them pointing out how witty and funny it was for Bretman to name the turtles after the iconic comedians in the Philippine entertainment industry.

"Omg, Mahal and Mura, gurl! Those names are lit! Hahaha good meaning though," a TikTok user commented.

"This exudes positivity and cheerfulness," another one said.

"How I envision my future: rich and doing everything my intrusive thoughts tell me to at home," an Internet user added.

The beauty guru recently made rounds on social media after he reminded everyone in an Instagram video to opt for reusable straws as it will help save the turtles. "Because without turtles... we wouldn't have turtles," he said.

The Filipino-American influencer, who rose to fame through his humorous vlogs and makeup tutorials, spent some of his childhood years in Cagayan and moved to the United States when he was seven years old.

Bretman was in the Philippines last August for his birthday celebration. He also graced the Vogue Philippines anniversary gala as well as Drag Race Philippines Season 2 as one of its guest judges

He also visited the Philippines in March for the launch of his book You’re That Bitch & Other Cute Lessons About Being Unapologetically Yourself—an essay collection about Bretman's "funny and inspiring celebration of self, identity, queerness, and his Filipino heritage."
