'Dream come true': Janine Gutierrez walks Venice Film Festival red carpet
It was a dream come true for Janine Gutierrez as she walked the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival.
The actress is starring in one of the films in the festival's lineup, Phantosmia which is directed by Lav Diaz.
She graced the event in Italy donning a custom Vania Romoff powder blue gown with a scoop neckline and a balloon skirt.
"Today was a dream come true!!!!!" Janine wrote in the caption of her post which was an Instagram Reel of her posing for pictures at La Biennale di Venezia.
Her friends in the industry expressed how proud they were of the 34-year-old star.
"You look incredible!! But more importantly, so proud of you for the body of work you've built so far as an actress[.] Congratulations [Janine] and of course, the whole [Phantosmia] cast and crew," celebrity photographer BJ Pascual commented.
"So proud of you!!!" added Iza Calzado.
"You look like a dream [sparkle and blue heart emoji] Congratulations to you and [Phantosmia]," said Jericho Rosales, who earlier in the month revealed he was dating Janine.
Phantosmia is part of the Out of Competition - Fiction category at the 81st Venice Film Festival.
The film follows the story of former military official Hilarion Zabala (Ronnie Lazaro) who suffers from a mysterious olfactory problem that has recurred.
Janine stars as Reina alongside other cast members Hazel Orencio, Dong Abay, Paul Jake Paule, Arjay Babon, Allen Alzola, Heart Puyong, Mitzi Comia, Vince Macapobre, Toni Go, Lhorvie Nuevo, and Edrick Alcontado.
Lav Diaz has previously had seven films included in the prestigious event including Kagadanan Sa Banwaan Ning Mga Engkanto (2007); Melancholia (2008); Siglo ng Pagluluwal (2011); Ang Alitaptap (2013); Lahi, Hayop (2020); Kapag Wala Nang Mga Alon (2022); and Ang Babaeng Humayo (2016) which won the grand prize, the Golden Lion award.
