Janine Gutierrez is working on a documentary on the life of “Asia’s Queen of Songs” Pilita Corrales.

In an Instagram post, Janine revealed she is co-producing the film with Raymond Ang and Chuck Gutierrez, alongside award-winning director Baby Ruth Villarama, who directed Sunday Beauty Queen.

“Very excited to announce that we’re working with the amazing @babyruthv, the director of the award-winning documentary Sunday Beauty Queen, on a documentary on my Mamita, the one and only Pilita Corrales,” the actress said.

“I’ve always felt a deep responsibility to help preserve Mamita’s amazing legacy and I hope this project becomes another way for younger generations to learn about her story—not just as a legendary performer, but as a woman who defied expectations and truly paved the way,” she continued.

The project is still “in the very early stages of development,” Janine said, but Vogue Philippines said it would give "an intimate view into the singer’s impressive seven-decade career and her personal life."

Janine's family and friends from the industry replied to her post, congratulating her on the announcement.

"[T]hank you for doing this for your Mamita!!! So proud of you Janine.! [I] love you," her aunt Jackie Lou Blanco wrote.

"Aaahhhh this is 💛🏆👑 All the best!" Jericho Rosales said.

"Awesome!!!! Nin.. This is beyond," Chynna Ortaleza wrote.

Pilita rose to fame in the 1960s and is known for her iconic singing style.
