KC Concepcion further explained her decision to unfollow stepfather Kiko Pangilinan and stepsister Frankie on Instagram as she noted that she will "never unlove" them.

On GMA's Fast Talk with Boy Abunda episode on Sept. 6, the "King of Talk" said KC was supposed to be his guest, but couldn't make it after attending a press conference and granting interviews with the media. Instead, she sent a written statement, which the veteran host read out loud.

"Sabi nga niya, 'Pakalmahin muna natin, Tito,'” Boy said.

He then went on to read her statement, which stated, "I have learned my place in people’s lives and out of respect, I will not overplay my part.”

“I am forever grateful to have experienced the love of a father through the experience of having a stepfather since I was 12 years old," he continued.

KC noted Kiko may not have a perfect journey like her but she knows "he's trying his best." For her, she tried to be a good daughter as much as she can.

"Ako po ay hindi perpekto pero nagmamahal po ako nang totoo," she said.

KC pointed out that it's the season of her life in which she values her own happiness more, as she's no longer a child.

"I realize na life is so short, sayang po kung aksayahin natin ang time with negativity," she said. "I just want the family to be happy, and also myself to be happy.”

She may have unfollowed Kiko and Frankie, but KC said she won't unfollow the lessons she has learned growing up into the woman she is today.

"I unfollowed, but I will never unlove. Family is family," she said. "Don't worry, naniniwala naman po ako na we have enough love to overcome this."

"I have faith na somehow God will bring us all to happy place, one day," she said.

Last Aug. 29, KC opened up to Cristy Fermin about her home situation, saying that though she loves everyone, there have always been complications in having a "blended family."

She explained there's nothing wrong in unfollowing people, as they hail from a family that's always in the public eye.

While KC wanted to be an "ate" to her younger siblings, she said she needs to prioritize her mental health at the moment.

KC is the only daughter of ex-lovers Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion. The Megastar has three children—Frankie, Miel, and Miguel—with Kiko.

KC is in the Philippines to promote her upcoming romantic comedy film Asian Persuasion, which features a diverse, primarily Asian cast. The project seeks "to elevate, inform, and inspire the Asian narrative," according to Variety
