KC Concepcion on her family situation: 'Minsan, mafe-feel mo na mag-isa ka lang sa gitna'

KC Concepcion opened up about feeling "alone" in the middle since her parents Gabby Concepcion and Sharon Cuneta ended their romance and went on to have their own separate families.

The actress got real about how having a broken family has impacted her in an interview with Ogie Diaz posted on his YouTube channel. She said that as a result of her parents separating, she has been making every effort to bond with every member of her blended family.

Sharon is married to former senator Kiko Pangilinan and has three children with him: Kakie, Miel, and Miguel. Gabby, meanwhile, is with Genevieve Yatco Gonzales, with whom he shares two daughters named Samantha and Savannah. The latter also has two other daughters, Garie and Cloie, from women he previously dated.

Feeling ko parang naging responsibilidad kong maging okay sa lahat, and to make sure na may relationship ako sa lahat," KC said.

"Family is very important for me. I love my family," she highlighted.

According to her, children who don't have a broken family may have a hard time understanding how blended families work. KC, however, acknowledged that not everything is all rainbows and butterflies when it comes to families that are still whole.

Minsan may lumalabas pa nga from a broken family na mas gumanda pa 'yung buhay because sa experience niya," KC said.

Since both of her parents now have separate lives with their own families, she admitted that this sometimes leaves her feeling trapped in the middle all by herself.

Despite the problems, KC understands that everything will be alright in the end and strives to move forward with better growth.

Sharon and Gabby are set to reunite for a Dear Heart concert that will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on Oct. 27.

In the same interview, KC said she could not believe the news when she first learned about it.

Tapos biglang magcoconcert," KC said.

"Hindi ko alam kung ano 'yung feeling. Parang maeexcite ba ako? Maiiyak ba ako? It's a show for other people, but it's real life for me," she added.

Sharon and Gabby tied the knot at the Manila Cathedral in 1984 and welcomed KC a year later. The former pair got legally separated in 1987. Their marriage was annulled in 1993.
