KATSEYE's Sophia to skip European leg of 'Wildworld' tour to focus on mental health
KATSEYE's Sophia Laforteza will miss the group's upcoming European tour dates as she continues to focus on her mental health and well-being.
In a statement on Weverse, KATSEYE's label said that Sophia will not be performing in concerts in Europe and the UK scheduled from Sept. 1 through 17 as she is "focusing on her well-being."
"The company remains fully committed to providing her with all the support and resources needed," they said.
"We sincerely ask for EYEKONS' warm understanding, as our highest priority will always be the health and long-term well-being of our artists. We will share further updates as they become available. Please continue to send your love, warmth, and support to Sophia and KATSEYE."

Meanwhile, Sophia took to her Instagram account to personally address her fans about her absence. As much as she wants to participate in the tour, she stressed that the members' "health and mental well-being should always be prioritized."
"When I show up for you, I want you to get the best version of me. I've been in ongoing treatment and doing everything I can to stay healthy, occupied, and happy. You can't pour from an empty cup. It's important to care for yourself," she said.
She went on to express her gratitude to the people around her, who have been supportive.
"I can't wait until I return and share the stage with my sisters again. They're gonna put on an extraordinary performance for you, EYEKONS. Trust me, I've been watching, and they're absolutely giving!" the singer said.
"See you soon, EYEKONS. I love you all so much. Thank you for understanding," she ended.
Sophia announced her hiatus in an Instagram story on Aug. 7, saying the decision was not easy but that she had realized she needed to prioritize her health.
With this, she is sitting out KATSEYE’s promotional activities as the group continues as a four-member act with Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, and Yoonchae Jeung. Fellow member Manon Bannerman also remains on hiatus after stepping away from group activities in February to focus on her health and well-being.
