Ice Seguerra, Liza Diño replace lost wedding bands with matching tattoos. Here are other couples with ring finger tatts
Ice Seguerra and his wife Liza Diño did something meaningful to celebrate their ninth anniversary together and to make up for a lost wedding ring.
On his Instagram account, Ice posted a funny clip of Liza wincing in pain as she got inked on her finger. Ice later shared the touching story behind the matching tattoos.
"I lost my wedding ring sometime last year during a beach trip. Pag-akyat ko ng bangka, ayun, nadulas siya at tuluyan nang namaalam. Sinubukan kong sisirin kaso nasa blue pa kami, medyo palubog na rin yung araw at wala akong torch," the singer-songwriter recalled.
"Sobrang sakit nun sa akin dahil never ko yun tinanggal. Iniisip ko kung paano ko sasabihin sa asawa ko, nasa ibang bansa siya noon kaya 'di kami magkasama. I knew she’d feel bad. Asar talo pa ako sa mga kaibigan ko," he continued.
When the time finally came for him to break the news, Ice said that Liza didn't hold the incident against him.
"When I told Liza, she never made me feel bad about it. Sobrang lalo ko siyang na-appreciate. Kaya sabi ko, ayoko na ng singing na pwedeng matanggal or ma-misplace. Dahil habangbuhay naman kaming magkasama, I wanted something permanent," he wrote.
To celebrate their ninth anniversary as a married couple, they decided to get a tattoo on their ring finger, despite Liza's previous apprehension.
"Liza is the exact opposite when it comes to tattoos. Isa lang ang tattoo niya, at yun ay dahil napagod siyang umakyat ng ilang bundok para mag interview kay Apo Whang-od, and it was Apo’s 100th birthday! Pero after nun, kahit ilang pilit ko, ayaw na niya. But she said yes to me this time around. And I am the happiest!" the director shared.
"Thank you, mahal ko, for indulging me. This is the best gift ever! I love you so much! I appreciate and adore you so much more!" he added.
Other couples with tattoos on their ring finger
Ice and Liza aren't the only ones who have decided to mark their love with permanent ink on their ring finger.
Vice Ganda and Ion Perez, in a non-legal commitment ceremony in 2021 in Las Vegas, got five couple tattoos on each of their fingers, including halves of a heart on their ring fingers.
Their other tattoos include the words "I am" on the base of Vice's thumb while Ion has the words "with you" on his, a smiley face on their index fingers, the words "king" and "queen" on their middle fingers, and lastly, the word "for" and "ever" on their pinky fingers in cursive letters.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z also opted for a tattoo on their wedding fingers. However, instead of a ring, the couple tatted the Roman numeral for "4," which symbolizes their birth dates and wedding day.
Beyoncé was born on Sept. 4, Jay-Z on Dec. 4 and they tied the knot on the fourth day of the fourth month of the year, April 4. Beyoncé has since altered the tattoo to make it look like both a traditional number 4 and a J, which seems to be a tribute to her husband.
Lin-Manuel Miranda also expressed love for his wife Vanessa Nadal with a tattoo of the letter "V" on his ring finger. The two of them attended high school together and married in 2010.
