Robi Domingo, Maiqui Pineda are expecting their first baby
Robi Domingo and Maiqui Pineda are going to be parents!
The couple announced on Instagram on Jan. 6 that they are expecting their first child.
"Two years married... and now our greatest blessing is on the way," Maiqui captioned a Reel of their announcement. "Happy [second] anniversary."
"We're ready to give you all of our love," she added, pertaining to their baby.
The video Maiqui shared featured them telling their family and friends of their announcement. This included celebrities like Darren Espanto, Donny Pangilinan, Enchong Dee, Kathryn Bernardo, Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Coco Martin, and more.
Clips from their past year then followed, which featured Maiqui writing, "Have healthy baby/babies of our own" on a sky lantern in Taiwan. Wishes are typically written on the lanterns and later released from the train tracks on Shifen Old Street.
Later in the video, Robi sat in front of a camera from their home.
"So it's Sept. 29, 2025, and Maiqui is in the CR right now with a pregnancy test," he said.
The wife then came into the frame and placed the test in front of the TV host. It showed a positive result.
"Wait, what's this?" Robi said, tearing up as Maiqui embraced him. "Wow."
"So now what?" he added jokingly.
On Sept. 30, 2024, Robi expressed his wishes to have a baby with Maiqui, who was battling an autoimmune disease.
In December 2024, Maiqui announced that she's in clinical remission, which means that the signs and symptoms of her autoimmune disease are now barely detectable. She had a rare disease called dermatomyositis, which causes muscle weakness, inflammation, and skin rash.
Robi and Maiqui got married in January earlier this year. They were college batchmates at the Ateneo de Manila University. They confirmed their romance in 2018 and announced their engagement four years later.
