Bea Alonzo on why she kept wedding with Vincent Co a secret: 'I wanted it to be about us'
Bea Alonzo has opened up on the reason why she tied the knot with her husband Vincent Co discreetly through a civin ceremony in July.
In a quick interview with entertainment journalist Nelson Canlas, the actress had the chance to share some updates about her life now that she is a newly married woman.
"Iba na 'yung address ko. Siyempre, nag-move in na kami together," she said. "Right now, I'm on cloud nine. I'm very, very happy. We wake up right next to each other every day and it's special to me."
When asked why she decided to make her wedding a surprise, Alonzo explained that she "didn't think that it's something she really needed to share."
"Hindi naman sa pinagdadamot, but at that point, parang I felt like I just wanted it to be mine and his. I wanted it to be about us and no one else," she said.
"It wasn't supposed to be a surprise. It wasn't supposed to be like that. It felt like it was the right thing to do and parang the moment was ours," she added.
Alonzo and Co, the eldest son of billionaire couple Lucio and Susan Co of Puregold, sparked romance rumors in June 2025. Co shared on Instagram a photo of himself holding hands with a mystery woman while walking on a beach in Spain—users noticed that the actress's outfit matched the mystery woman's clothes.
Later in August of that year, Alonzo confirmed their relationship in a GMA interview, stating that she wanted to keep things private.
In May, there were speculations that the two broke up, with some eagle-eyed social media users noticing that Alonzo supposedly unfollowed Co on Instagram. Gossip columns also surmised that prenup disagreements affected the couple's plans to wed in Spain.
Two months later, the couple got married in a civil wedding in Makati, according to The Philippine STAR, sharing a Pilipino Star Ngayon photo. The image showed the actress in a white blazer and Co in a Barong Tagalog, posing alongside Makati Mayor Nancy Binay.
The actress later confirmed she has tied the knot, sharing photos from the intimate wedding, and captioning it: "Home."
