‘Zombie Detective’ star Jung Chae-yul passes away at 26
Jung Chae-yul has passed away. She was 26.
According to a report by K-entertainment site Soompi, the South Korean actress’ agency confirmed the news in an official statement on Tuesday, April 11.
“Today, we are relaying sorrowful and heartbreaking news. Actress Jung Chae-yul has left our side,” Management S said without specifying the cause of her death.
“Please wish for Jung Chae-yul, who had always been earnest in her pursuit of acting, to rest in peace in a warm place,” it added.
The funeral will take place in private, "in accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family who must have been in greater sadness than anyone else."
The model's agency asked the public to refrain from "writing speculative articles or spreading rumors" about her death.
Chae-yul made her television debut in 2016 via the fashion model survival program Devil’s Runway. She starred in the 2018 film Deep, marking the start of her acting career. She’s best known for her role in Netflix’s Zombie Detective, which premiered in 2020.
