Miel Pangilinan weighs in on Sharon Cuneta, Kiko Pangilinan's cyber libel case vs. Cristy Fermin
Miel Pangilinan, the daughter of Sharon Cuneta and Kiko Pangilinan, weighed in on her parents filing a cyber libel suit against showbiz insider Cristy Fermin.
Without mentioning Cristy, Miel told ABS-CBN News that "this person" spread a lot of things about their family, leading to "pretty much a lot of negative comments" about her and her siblings.
"They [r]arely show us in a good light," Miel is quoted as saying. "So it kind of, it boils over, and the audience that watches this person ended up coming to me or my sister and blaming us, or just sending hate or harrassing us."
"It affects us also. Parang dinamay pa kami," she added.
Miel noted that her mother would "obviously" do everything to defend them.
"It was kind of her, that was her tipping point," Miel said of Sharon.
Miel also looked back into becoming a victim of cyberbullying since the campaign period in 2022, when her father Kiko ran as vice president.
While she got used to the negative comments and learned to filter things, she noted that the worst comment she got was her being a "waste of genes."
"It’s weird that I get those comments," she said. "And a lot of those came from people who don’t even know me."
Sharon and Kiko sued Cristy for "broadcasting baseless and malicious statements regarding their personal and family affairs."
In response to the lawsuit, Cristy told them not to "shoot the messenger," as she was merely doing her job.
The talk show host previously said that Sharon and her daughter KC Concepcion's on-and-off relationship was due to the latter misplacing a valuable possession by the Megastar. She also pointed out how Sharon and Kiko didn't post any greetings for KC on her birthday on April 7.
Cristy is also facing a cyber libel suit from Bea Alonzo and, most recently, from Dominic Roque.
