Nancy, a former member of the K-pop girl group Momoland, joined GMA Network’s talent agency Sparkle.

“Sparkle proudly welcomes its new international star, Nancy McDonie, to its diverse and stellar roster of talents,” the agency said in a Facebook post on April 1.

”Get ready to witness her journey as she shines among the brightest stars in the industry!”

Sparkle previously teased followers with a silhouette of a woman against a pink background. Its post also had an audio recording of her saying, “Annyeong, Sparkle. See you soon.”

McDonie, a Korean-American, is the second K-pop artist that joined Sparkle, after Filipino-blooded Chantal Videla of Lapillus.

She visited the country last year to perform with actor-singer Lee Seung Gi in Bonifacio Global City to celebrate the anniversary of the local branch of the Korean restaurant BB.Q Chicken.

In 2022, McDonie appeared in the music video of James Reid’s Hello. Ahead of that, she was spotted hanging out with him in Los Angeles.

Momoland debuted in 2016 and disbanded in 2023. It’s known for its hits Bboom Bboom, Baam, Banana Chacha, I’m So Hot, and Thumbs Up.
