Barbie Hsu left inheritance equally divided between husband, two children: report
Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu reportedly left her inheritance equally divided between her husband and two children.
Local outlets, including China Times, reported that Hsu's assets, estimated at 600 million yuan (PhP4.7 billion), will be split between Koo Jun-yup, her 10-year-old daughter, and her 8-year-old son. But since her children are still minors, their biological father will manage their inheritance, Hsu's ex-husband Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei.
Wang was also granted custody of the two children. A source indicated that he doesn't plan to relocate them to Beijing.
He also reportedly reached an "amicable agreement" with Hsu's mother "in accordance with the law."
Koo, a South Korean singer and DJ, earlier said he'd give his share "entirely" to Hsu's mother.
However, legal experts in Taiwan said inheritance rights are personal and cannot be transferred to another individual. If Koo will formally give up his share, Hsu's assets will go entirely to her children.
Hsu died of pneumonia after contracting influenza during a Lunar New Year celebration in Japan. She was 48.
She rose to fame in Meteor Garden, starring alongside the boy group F4, comprising Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, Ken Chu, and Vic Chou.
She also appeared in the television series Mars (2004), Corner with Love (2007), and Summer's Desire (2010).
Hsu retired from acting after marrying Wang in 2011. She appeared in variety shows and advertisements afterward.
Koo and Hsu, who had dated before her first marriage, rekindled their relationship and got married in March 2022, or three months after her divorce from Wang.
