Lee Sung Kyung set for Manila comeback with 'Be Closer' fan meet

Looks like July is about to be full of "sweeg" for Pinoy Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo fans, as Lee Sung Kyung is flying back to Manila for a fan meet that month.

Events producer CDM Entertainment announced on Monday, May 15, that the Hallyu star is set to hold her fan meeting, titled "Be Closer," in Manila on July 8.

"We are delighted to announce the highly-anticipated Lee Sung Kyoung Asia Fan Meeting [BE CLOSER] happening in the city near you soon! Get ready for an unforgettable experience as we bring you closer to the incredibly talented and charismatic Lee Sung Kyoung," the post reads.

Prior to the Philippines, the model-turned-actress will be visiting Tokyo, Japan on June 18 and Taipei, Taiwan on June 24. She is set to conclude her Asia tour in Seoul, South Korea on July 22.

Other details of her fan meeting, including venue, ticket prices, and selling date, are yet to be announced.

Lee Sung Kyung's upcoming fan meet in Manila marks the second time she is visiting the Philippines. She first came to the country for her "Be Joyful" fan meeting on July 27, 2019, at the SM North EDSA Sky Dome in Quezon City.

During her previous fan meet, the actress said that part of her bucket list, before she turns 40, includes visiting the Philippines again.

“First, I want to see my fans in the Philippines again, (then live) abroad for a month with my family. Another one is to become healthy and to have another drama for (my) next project," the 32-year-old actress said through an interpreter.

Lee Sung Kyung started her modeling career in 2008, as part of South Korea's Super Model Contest where she placed 11th and won the Lex Prize, She transitioned into acting in 2014 with the K-drama It's Okay, That's Love.

Since then, she has starred in several K-dramas including Weightlifting Fairy Kim bok-Joo, Cheese in the Trap, Doctors, and About Time. Her latest project is the South Korean series Dr. Romantic which just released its third season on April 28.
