This proclamation follows a series of Swift-themed events and activities in the Bay Area. From Taylor Swift-themed programs at the Milpitas Library to a university class dedicated to analyzing her music, it's clear that Swifties are making their presence felt throughout the region.
Taylor's impact on local businesses is expected to extend beyond her music. Her visit to Santa Clara is expected to boost hotels and restaurants in the area, as fans flock to the city to see her concert.
One restaurant has even created a special Taylor Swift menu, featuring a signature drink named the "lavender haze."
The "Eras Tour" is also being met with enthusiastic welcomes from cities across America. Similarly, Tampa, Florida appointed Taylor as its mayor in April 2023. Glendale, Arizona renamed itself to "Swift City," while Las Vegas lit up its Gateway Arches to represent Taylor's albums.
Arlington, Texas also created "Taylor Swift Way" and gave Taylor a key to the city, while Houston renamed its stadium "NRG Stadium (Taylor's Version)" for the weekend.
Other cities like Nashville, Minneapolis, and Bellevue, Kentucky also did their own gimmicks.
Taylor is currently on tour in America for her "The Eras Tour." She will be making two stops in Asia in 2024—one in Singapore and another in Japan.
