Former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher marries longtime boyfriend
Ralf Schumacher has married his longtime partner Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne.
In a joint Instagram post on Thursday, June 4, the couple revealed that the former Formula 1 driver tied the knot with his husband in Saint-Tropez.
"Last weekend, began the first chapter of our new life together in front of all those who love us. I stand with a heart full of pride and emotion, to tell you, that I choose you forever," Bousquet-Cassagne's caption read in English.
Bousquet-Cassagne detailed how being in a relationship with Shumacher changed his life.
"With you, I feel free to be myself, and whole," he wrote, adding, "Since we met, my life has changed colors. You brought light into my lonely days."
"For the rest of our lives, I want to explore the world by your side—sharing the small joys of everyday life just as much as the grand adventures—and growing together within this love that makes us stronger," he added. "I love you infinitely—my husband, my everything. Your husband, forever."
The announcement also promoted the finale of their documentary series, Ralf & Étienne: Wir sagen Ja, which is expected to feature more details about their wedding.
Schumacher, the younger brother of Formula One champion Michael Schumacher, publicly came out as gay in July 2024 when he introduced Bousquet-Cassagne as his years-long partner on Instagram. The pair announced their engagement in February.
Schumacher was married to Cora-Coraline Schumacher in 2001 and has a 24-year-old son David. Their divorce was finalized in 2015.
Meanwhile, Bousquet-Cassagne is an entrepreneur and a philanthropist.
