Bela Padilla confirms unfollowing Piolo Pascual, Kyle Echarri on Instagram, but not because of conflict

Bela Padilla confirmed that she unfollowed showbiz colleagues Kyle Echarri and Piolo Pascual on Instagram, though she pointed out that it's not because of speculations regarding any conflict.

On X, personality Auntie Selina, who has over 28,800 followers, tweeted, "Just in: Did Bela Padilla unfollow Kyle Echarri and Piolo Pascual?"

Padilla quoted the tweet, saying, "I did!" before explaining that it was because she's decluttering her following list.

"I woke up one day and I was following around 7,000 people," she said. "So now, I’m trying to declutter by bringing my following down to zero slowly and then will follow my friends back one by one after."

"I was just talking to Kyle about this last night," she added with a smiling face emoji.

One user asked, "Akala ko may issue kayo ni Papa P. Kilig na kilig pa naman ako sa inyo hehehe."

Padilla explicitly dismissed the perception.

"Never! He’s one of my most trusted friends in our industry," she said of Pascual.

Another user, meanwhile, told Padilla that she doesn't owe anyone an explanation for her move, adding, "pero grabe ang humility niyo."

Padilla acknowledged the concern but noted that she hates unfounded claims.

"Oh I know, I just don’t like fake news," she said with a peace sign emoji.

In February, Padilla teased fans with her upcoming project with Pascual and Echarri.

In an Instagram Story entry at the time, she shared a photo of her and Pascual holding hands while in the water.

“The first person who said yes to a full-length feature film script I wrote years ago," she said in the caption. "Thank you for always taking a chance on your friends. Thank you for loving our industry so much that you’re willing to try and try and try. Thank you for saying yes to my stories this year. Excited to ‘play’ with you again."

In another Story entry, she shared Instax photos that included portraits of herself, Pascual, Echarri, and the three of them.

“Excited to also finally be in a scene with you where I’m not in a picture frame," she said, mentioning Echarri's handle with a tears of joy emoji.

"Kawawa ka sa set,” she added, mentioning Pascual's handle and putting another tears of joy emoji.

Padilla didn't explicitly mention what script she had written but in January, she shared a Reel showing pages of her screenplay titled, "Love Hate Relationship."

"Starting the year with a new script," she said. "Breaking my writer's block of two years with something special that I’m about to create with friends." She didn't mention who these friends were at the time.

Padilla, Pascual, and Echarri last appeared together in the 2024 teleserye Pamilya Sagrado.
