North West roasts mom Kim Kardashian's 2023 Met Gala pearl dress: 'It looks like from the dollar store'
North West, the daughter of American media personality Kim Kardashian, just got candid about her mother’s 2023 Met Gala dress adorned with pearls.
On the Nov. 22 episode of the reality television show The Kardashians, North said she liked the pearls in Kim's Schiaparelli dress but didn’t like “that it looks like from the dollar store.”
For the 9-year-old, it made her mother look like a “Hawaiian girl with her dress all ripped.”
North also thought the dress was too "beachy" and that the diamond accessories would "ruin" the outfit.
Daniel Roseberry, the creative director of the French haute couture house, was also in the room and said it felt like someone was pulling a prank on him.
"This is my worst nightmare come to life," he said while laughing. "It's like I'm being punked. The night before the Met getting ready for filth by a nine-year-old."
Kim didn’t expect North’s frank observation.
"I respect your opinion. Please just be easy on me today," she told North, who replied, "I'm not going to lie, but I won't say it at all if you don't want me to."
This wasn’t the first time North gave unflattering remarks about Kim’s dress.
During the 2021 Met Gala, in which Kim wore an all-black Balenciaga dress that also covered her entire body, including her face, North said it looked like Kim was “getting covered by a plastic bag” and was “suffocating.”
Kim said North wants to “rate people’s outfits” and “loves to critique.”
North is Kim’s daughter with ex-husband, rapper Kanye West. They’re also parents to Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
