Gloc-9 shared why he felt scared after releasing his hit 2012 single Sirena.

The rapper-songwriter, whose real name is Aristotle Pollisco, opened up about the song anew in his guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on July 24.

Host Boy Abunda first praised and thanked him for the song, which he said has become an anthem for the gay community.

In his response, Pollisco said that he felt afraid after releasing it at the time, fearing that he included remarks that might be offensive to the gay community.

In his previous interview with ABS-CBN News, Pollisco said that when he wrote Sirena, he wasn’t yet aware of the sexuality of his son, Sean Daniel, the twin brother of Daniele Shaun.

“Hindi ko alam kung paano ko sasabihin sa anak ko na, kung gaano ko siya kamahal,” he shared at the time when he learned that his son is gay.

“Minsan iniisip ko how life gives you hints of magic here and there,” he said.

The award-winning rapper’s songs often tackle the country’s social issues. His hits include Simpleng Tao, Upuan, Magda, Walang Natira, Lando (with FrancisM), and Bagsakan
