Moira dela Torre among the nominees for Best Asia Act at 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards
Moira dela Torre vies for the Best Asia Act award at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards as the only Filipino in the lineup.
The Tagpuan singer is competing against four big stars from other Asian countries, including J-pop group BE:FIRST, Thair actor BRIGHT from hit BL series 2gether, Indonesian singer-actress Tiara Andini, and K-pop group TREASURE.
Voting period has begun on Oct. 4. Fans of Moira can cast their votes as many as they can until Oct. 31 on the MTV EMAs website. Winners will be announced on Nov. 5.
Meanwhile, leading this year’s nominations is Taylor Swift with seven nods, followed by Olivia Rodrigo and SZA with six. Meanwhile, Doja Cat, Måneskin, Miley Cyrus, and Nicki Minaj all scored four nominations each.
Among the first-time nominees is BTS’ Jung Kook with three designations, including Best Song for his single, Seven. Other newcomers with three nominations are FLO, Ice Spice, and PinkPantheress. Meanwhile, Coi Leray, Metro Boomin, NewJeans, and Reneé Rapp got two nods each.
Moira recently collaborated with Jamie Miller for the song Maybe Next Time. She also staged a world tour early this year and graced the stages in cities in Canada, the United States, and the Middle East.
Some of her hit songs are Paubaya, Pahinga, and Tagpuan. She is also gearing up for the release of her new album.
