Bea Alonzo admits she once fell in love with a co-actor

Bea Alonzo had a juicy secret to share regarding her love life.

The actress was invited to partake in a lie-detector challenge on Luis Manzano's YouTube vlog, where one of the questions delved into whether she had developed romantic feelings for a leading man she had worked with in the past.

"Habang ginagawa niyo 'yung proyekto, eh biglang napamahal ka na at nadala mo 'yung feelings pagkatapos ng show," Luis said.

After taking a moment to reflect, Bea answered, "Actually, every love story na ginagawa ko and every co-actor na nakakasama ko, nai-in love naman talaga ako. Kailangan 'yun eh at that specific moment. You have to find a trait or anything about your partner that you can fall in love with."

She then confessed, "Pero yes, na-in love na ako sa co-actor."

Her answer matched with the lie-detector test, resulting in a "truth."

Bea chose not to name the co-actor she once saw in a romantic light. Throughout her career in showbiz, she formed a popular love team with John Lloyd Cruz, where they were paired in movies such as One More Chance, A Second Chance, as well as The Mistress.

Despite never turning their onscreen romance into a real one, Bea previously revealed that dating her OG love team partner once crossed her mind.

"I’m sure it’s inevitable. Kami ni John Lloyd, we were never romantically involved, but of course, sometimes naiisip ko 'yun na 'Oo nga no? Paano nga kaya?'" the actress said during one of her YouTube vlogs.

Other actors who served as her leading men in her projects include Dennis Trillo, Dingdong Dantes, Derek Ramsay, Aga Muhlach, Gerald Anderson, and Sam Milby.

Bea has now found her soulmate in actor and model Dominic Roque. At one point in the lie-detector challenge, she shared that she once asked Dominic whether he still had an active career in showbiz as she didn't want to have a relationship with a fellow actor anymore.

"Ngayon, maraming lalaki in general—kahit hindi sa showbiz industry—ang maraming red flags. Pero sa tingin ko lang, sa showbiz, mas madaling nakakalusot," Bea said. "Halimbawa, may pelikula, magho-holding hands, sasabihin 'Ah it's just for the movie.' It's so convenient."

"Kaya sabi ko, after noon, ayoko na ng artista na jowa. Unang tanong ko kay Dom nung nagda-date pa lang kami, 'Nag-aartista ka pa ba? Kasi ayoko na ng artista.' But hindi na siya nag-aartista," she continued.

The couple first sparked dating speculations in 2019. They are now set to tie the knot sometime this year.
