Blake Lively sorry for 'silly post' on Kate Middleton's photoshop fail following royal's cancer reveal
Blake Lively issued a public apology for her "silly" joke that appeared to be about Kate Middleton's edited Mother’s Day photo after the royal revealed she has been diagnosed with cancer.
In her Instagram stories on Saturday, March 23, the actress said that while she's certain that "no one cares" about the post today, she felt that it's something she needs to acknowledge.
"I made a silly post around the 'photoshop fails' frenzy, and oh man, that post has me mortified today. I'm sorry," she wrote.
"Sending love and well wishes to all, always," she added.
This comes after the Princess of Wales revealed her cancer diagnosis on Saturday, March 23 following numerous speculations and conspiracy theories about her and her whereabouts since January, when she underwent an abdominal surgery.
Early this month, Kate stirred controversy after admitting that her family portrait with her three children—10-year-old Prince George, 8-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 5-year-old Prince Louis—was edited. News agencies like AFP, The Associated Press, Getty, and Reuters removed the photo from their websites.
Around that time, Blake posted a clearly photoshopped photo of her head on another person's body on Instagram with the caption: "I'm so excited to share this new photo I just took today. Now, you know why I've been MIA."
Her company Betty Buzz, using its official IG page, also commented on the photo that "haters will say it's photoshop."
