Tom Holland says his romance with Zendaya is 'worth its weight in gold'

Everyone has that special person in their lives that can instantly brighten up their day and make them feel like they're the luckiest person in the world. For actor Tom Holland, it's Zendaya—his girlfriend of two years.

Talking about their romance in an episode of comedy-based podcast Smartless, the Spider-Man star opened up about why he and the love of his life are such a great match for each other.

"I’m lucky that I have someone like Zendaya in my life," Holland said. "It’s interesting being in a romantic relationship with someone that is in the same boat as you."

"You can share your experiences and all that sort of stuff—and that's worth its weight in gold," he added.

The 27-year-old actor has been sharing glimpses of his love life with his fans in several interviews, including how his little-known skills in carpentry are among the things that captured Zendaya's heart in the early days of their relationship.

"Carpentry is just something I really enjoy," he revealed in an interview with UNILAD. "I’ve made my mom’s kitchen table. I made my mom’s office. I’ve built all the cupboards in my bedroom. I built a little birdhouse for my grandad."

He then shared that his skills came in handy when Zendaya needed some help, "I fixed my girlfriend’s door once really early on in our relationship. I was hanging out at her house and her door was broken. I was like, 'I’m gonna fix that door for you.' And now, we’re in love."

Despite this, the two are keen on keeping most of their sweet moments out of the spotlight.

"Our relationship is something that we are incredibly protective of and we want to keep as sacred as possible. We don’t think that we owe it to anyone, it’s our thing, and it has nothing to do with our careers," Holland told The Hollywood Reporter.

The two made their relationship public in 2021.

According to a previous report by Fox News, the celebrity lovebirds are ready to take their relationship to the next level. An insider told Us Weekly that they are "both in settling-down mode and are absolutely planning for a real future together."

Zendaya was once seen flaunting a ring with her boyfriend's name engraved on it.
