Travel vloggers behind 2 French in Manila say goodbye to making content

2 French in Manila, a popular travel vlog led by content creator duo John and Nelson, is saying goodbye to their platform.

In an emotional video posted on their social media accounts, the two compiled clips of their various excursions together in the Philippines as they announced the end of their channel.

"We arrived here young, full of dreams, knowing barely about the Philippines and nothing about Manila," Nelson said.

"So we're just two French friends who met in college in Paris with a strong desire [for] adventure and learning from others. Millions of years later, we're grateful beyond words, but today, it's time to close this story," John continued.

Nelson went on to say that he hopes they have helped their fans discover amazing places and that they'll continue supporting local restaurants that "cook with love, rather than establishments only driven by profit margin."

John added that they wish the chefs and people they featured would continue doing what they're passionate about.

"We could give you many reasons about why we are stopping, but does it really matter?" Nelson said.

"In the end, we just want to use this video to say thank you to everyone who watched us, who welcomed us, who ate with us, who laughed with us, who shared pieces of real life with us," John added.

Nelson highlighted that they have "no regrets" and that they tried their best to "live this adventure fully and to honor this friendship and this country."

They ended the video expressing their gratitude towards each other. The moment is made even more emotional as the song See You Again by Wiz Khalifa played in the background.

"Thank you for taking this flight almost 10 years ago," Nelson told John, to which the latter replied, "Thank you, brother, for everything. I think it changed our lives. I wish you the best."

In the caption, the two of them reflected how 2 French in Manila began with curiosity, friendship, and a love for the Philippines.

"It was never about food alone. It was about people, values, and moments that felt real. Over time, the world changed. So did we," they said.

"We choose to close this chapter to remain aligned with what mattered to us from the start. Today, Nelson and I (John) choose to stop, not because the love is gone, but because staying true to it matters more," they added.

While they won't be active anymore, Nelson and John assured that they will not delete their accounts to give their followers a chance to browse some of their next meals.

Nelson and John started making content sometime in 2017, showcasing fun experiences in the Philippines to bridge between French and Filipino experiences.
