Dennis Trillo addresses rumors of rift between wife Jennylyn Mercado, his family
Dennis Trillo has shut down rumors of an alleged rift between his wife Jennylyn Mercado and his family.
"Sa mga hindi po nakakakilala sa aking asawa, isa saiya sa pinakamabuting tao sa buhay ko. Isang pribilehiyo na ako ang pinili niyang makasama habang buhay," the actor wrote on Facebook on Jan. 10.
"Ang mga magulang ko naman ay may edad na po. Hindi din sila showbiz at tahimik lang sila na namumuhay... ['Wag] naman sana sila bigyan ng isyu."
In a vlog on Jan. 9, showbiz columnist Ogie Diaz reported that a source told him Mercado wasn't on good terms with Trillo's parents and siblings. The Green Bones star's mother and father are reportedly staying in his old house in Taytay.
The source also claimed that in 2025, Trillo supposedly asked his family to go out for lunch, but specifically requested his sisters not to come, allegedly because of Mercado.
Trillo responded that he loves his family and his wife.
"Mahal na mahal ko po silang lahat at maayos ang samahan namin kahit 'di man kami madalas nagkakasama dahil sadyang busy ang aming mga schedules," he continued.
"2026 na po, magfocus [na lang] tayo sa pagiging mabuting tao. Madaming problema ang ating bansa na mas kailangan nating pagtuunan ng pansin. Maiksi lang ang buhay, piliin natin maging masaya at mabuti araw-araw."
Mercado, on the other hand, has yet to address the matter.
Trillo and Mercado tied the knot in November 2021. They first got into a relationship in 2010, broke up the year after, and reunited in 2014.
In May 2022, they welcomed their first daughter together, named Dylan. They both have sons from previous relationships. Trillo shares Calix with ex-girlfriend Carlene Aguilar, while Mercado shares Alex Jazz with Patrick Garcia.
The couple is currently starring together in drama-action Sanggang Dikit FR.
