Tessa Prieto has filed a case for falsification of documents before the Department of Justice.

On June 1, the socialite took to social media to share a video of her legal move.

"Today I filed," she wrote on Monday. "No more silence. No more shrinking. It's all about speaking the truth! It's about vindication[,] about my story being heard[,] about accountability."

According to reports, a complaint has been lodged against three individuals, including Prieto's former partner, alleging the fabrication of a promissory note related to financial transactions that Prieto supposedly did not sign.

Prieto was accompanied by her lawyer, Tei Leonardo, who said the case is a counter-charge to an active estafa case to which the socialite is out on bail.

"It’s the first day of Pride Month. Pride is about truth. About choosing yourself, even when it’s hard," Prieto added.

"It’s all about speaking the truth! It’s about vindication. About my story being heard. About accountability," she continued. "So here I am. 62. Filing cases. Starting a real estate career. Rebuilding in public!"

Under the country's Revised Penal Code, falsification of legislative documents has a penalty of a fine not exceeding P6,000 and a maximum period of six years in prison.

Meanwhile, the use of falsified documents is punished with a P5,000 fine and two to six years in prison.

Prieto rose to prominence as a socialite and TV personality, earning attention for her bold fashion choices and philanthropy.
