WATCH: Netflix to release docuseries on Michael Jackson's 2005 trial

A new docuseries about Michael Jackson's 2005 child molestation trial and acquittal is coming to Netflix in June.

Netflix has dropped the official trailer of Michael Jackson: The Verdict, a three-part docuseries that looks back on the controversial case the "King of Pop" faced in 2003. He later went to trial in 2005 and was acquitted.

The series will feature interviews with key individuals involved in the case, including jurors and media figures who were present at the time.

In the trailer, real footage shows authorities searching his Neverland property for a secret room. It also features accounts from interviewees alleging that he "lured" young boys to Neverland and avoided conviction for such a "heinous crime" because of his celebrity status. Clips of fans protesting in support of him were also shown.

"Is he guilty, or is he not guilty? Finally, we're going to get some answers," a voiceover said.

The series is helmed by Nick Green and executive produced by Fiona Stourton.

“It has been 20 years since the trial of Michael Jackson in which he was found not guilty. Yet, to this day, controversy still rages,” the filmmakers said, per Tudum. “No cameras were allowed in court, and so the public’s view of the facts at the time were filtered by commentators and presented piecemeal. It was time to take a forensic look at the trial as a whole."

“Anyone interested in the Michael Jackson story should feel this documentary gives them a window into what was largely a closed event and a chance to feel closer to what happened," they said.

The docuseries premieres on June 3. Watch the trailer below:
