Marina Summers gets applauded by RuPaul after bagging second win: ‘You were born to do drag’

Marina Summers won the "Rusical" challenge in the fifth episode of Drag Race UK vs. The World Season 2.

The seven remaining drag queens were tasked to write their own verses for their group performance dubbed Seven: Confessions of a Drag Queen, inspired by the hit comedy musical show Six.

Marina made sure to stand out with her dancing and rap skills during her solo stage, where she showcased her Filipina roots.

A snippet of her verse includes, “I'm a Filipina diva with a confession, I'm a little Asian from a faraway nation.”

“Ready to take over, Filipina domination; Manila to the world, drop it hot like it's made of ice, like sticky rice.”

The queens later showcased their glamorous ensembles on the runway for another segment, where Marina donned a silver fit inspired by the country’s national fish—bangus or milkfish—which was a reimagined version of her look during the first episode of Drag Race Philippines.

The judges applauded the Filipina drag queen, with RuPaul highlighting how she makes not just the Philippines, but the whole drag community, proud.

"Marina Summers, you were born to be on stage. You were born to do drag,” the drag queen said.

“You have represented not only the Philippines, but drag in such a way that it makes us all proud for you," she added.

Marina turned emotional and said that representing the country on the international stage was “a dream come true.”

"This is such a dream come true to me. And yeah, I hope I made [the] Philippines proud with that performance because we don't get this opportunity a lot back in the Philippines to be seen on an international level,” she tearfully said. “This is Filipino drag and I'm very, very proud to represent it internationally.”

She also took to social media to express her happiness over RuPaul’s "stamp of approval."

“WORLD! We got the stamp of approval from mother RuPaul herself! [I'm] crying at 6am in the morning!” she wrote. “This was such a meaningful moment for this little diva. Manila to The WORLD! Here we farkinggg go!”

Marina was first announced as part of the show's cast earlier this year, making her the first drag queen to represent the Philippines in an international All Stars edition of RuPaul's Drag Race

She previously won the talent show for her powerful performance of AmaFilipina.
