#FangirlGigs: Super Junior fulfills promise to give Filo ELFs superb memories in 2-day concert in Manila
They are not called the ‘King of Hallyu Wave’ for nothing. Coming from their bittersweet fan meet in the Philippines last August, K-pop kings Super Junior kept their promise to give a night to remember to the sea of Pearl Sapphire blue hearts at the "Super Show 9" concert last weekend at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Filo ELFs' excitement did not falter, as they witnessed Shindong, Si-won, Donghae, Yesung, Leeteuk, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, and Eunhyuk sing, dance, and stun everyone with their killer looks throughout the show. Indeed, it is the best way to wrap up the year.
The group started strong with their Burn The Floor opening act, the whole arena didn't have a silent moment since then. The crowd was all ride up especially during Euhyuk’s solo dance break. Suju also set the stage ablaze with their hot performance of The Crown.
Of course, who wouldn't cheer and dance to their iconic song, Mr. Simple? Filo ELFs were screaming throughout Super Junior's performance of the track, that it almost drowned out the music and voices of the group.

Apart from live performances of their idols' iconic songs, the most important (and the best) part of every concert for every K-pop fan is the ment—or when idols interact with the audience. This much-anticipated moment came to Filo ELFs when Super Junior took a break from the first part of the concert to greet and converse with the audience.
Shindong, one of the main dancers of the group asked, “We kept our promise, right?”
His greeting was music to the crowd's ears as during the concert-turned-fan meeting of the group last Aug. 6, Shindong wasn't able to talk with the fans, overwhelmed with emotions following the mishaps that day: Si-won tested positive for COVID-19 and the passing of Eunhyuk's father.
After the resounding yes of Filo ELFs, Shindong added, “But I think you kept the promise for us." The audience responded with a cheer, feeling as if his words were a warm hug.
Then there was Si-won who said, "Yes, I'm your man, Si-won Choi!" And the crowd goes wild in kilig! Aside from promising that they will not disappoint that night, he also apologized for getting COVID-19 last August.
One of the magical highlights of Super Show 9 is the solo act of KRY—Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and Yesung—who almost made ELFs cry with their soothing vocals through their ballad I Can't.
Of course, this group is known not just for their God-tier talent as the kings of Hallyu, but also for their humor, being a regular of the reality show Knowing Bros. That is why halfway through the program, a short comedy clip was played wherein Super Junior was dressed as classical musicians. They performed the remix version of their tracks Spy, Rokuko!!, and Mamacita.
The arena was filled with a party-like atmosphere as the fans sang and danced to the group's bop songs House Party, Devil, Bonamana, Black Suit, Mango, and Sorry sorry.

During their last ment, Si-won expressed his immense gratitude to Filo ELFs, wishing them good luck in the next year. He said, "I pray that 2023 will be a year of hope, where all our wishes would come true."
"Anything is possible with the right people to support you, like us. So we can do everything because of you," he added.
The group concluded the show singing H.O.T's song Happiness.
Super Junior, albeit often returning to the Philippine stage, always makes sure to give a superb performance with Filo ELFs. The boys have been loved by the country's K-pop fans, especially with how they constantly make fans feel that they are included in the group's success.
Super Junior proved once again not only why they are K-pop legends, but also their fan's everlasting friend.
