R.A.F. x nicolò's latest collaboration offers just that. Their collection, titled un trajé, reimagines traditional Filipino clothing during the Spanish colonial period. It consists of modern-style skirts, denim jorts, tailored vests, and airy blouses, perfect for the country’s year-round tropical climate
R.A.F., named after its founder Roxanne Ang Farillas—the woman behind Plains & Prints—creates everyday clothing for career-focused, creative Filipinas, crafting pieces that radiate confidence, boldness, and individuality. For this project, they partnered with Nicolo Perez, a menswear designer celebrated for his clean lines and distinct shapes, to produce versatile staples designed to transcend trends and suit all genders.
There's the long-sleeve twill jacket is designed for a stylish, casual vibe, featuring a notch collar with a self-tie ribbon closure at the front. For career women, there's a short-sleeve taffeta top that has a notch collar with a button-down front and chic pearl troca buttons, double-layered sleeves, and a waist cinched with an adjustable elastic drawstring and metal stopper.
A subtle tone-on-tone Nicolo embroidered logo on the center back yoke adds a refined, contemporary touch, which effortlessly blends professionalism with style.
If you want a pop of color and with fun shapes, there's a short-sleeved top made of crumpled organza that features pleated shoulder sleeves and contrasting leaf appliqués on the front panel, enhanced with zigzag stitching for a refined, intricate finish.
Also a signature piece from the collection is the high-waisted denim pants paired with a versatile self-tie sash that can be styled in multiple ways; tie it as a tapis, draped around the neck, or even as a standalone top.
For casual fits, there's an oversized short-sleeved top paired with high-waist boxer shorts featuring contrast curvy line stitching.
An A-line crumpled organza dress, perfect for formal occasions, featuring a detachable tube panel and gently arched side cut with pleats for added dimension. Self-tie grosgrain ribbon shoulder straps ensure an adjustable and elegant fit.
Celebrated for its versatility, this collection is not only stylish but also highly functional, with most pieces designed with pockets—perfect for those always on the go. It comes in neutral shades like denim, white, beige, mustard, and khaki.
