LOOK: Samsung and Thom Browne team up for special editions of Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Watch6
We've all been there—staring at our friends' smartphones when their gadget is either the latest model or simply one of the best-looking in the market. Good news is that, that friend can now be you.
Samung Electronics and New York-based luxury fashion brand Thom Browne have teamed up for a special edition of Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Watch6 that can double as head-turning statement pieces.
The limited-edition gadgets, launched in Samsung stores on Sept. 12, are the ultimate example of turning advanced technology into a bold statement, according to the acclaimed designer.
"This continued collaboration with Samsung represents an evolution of what we’ve been creating together for years," Browne said in a press release.
"We want to show that a perfect blend of top quality, innovative design, and a classic aesthetic can become a powerful form of self-expression," he added.
Prior to the Thom Browne Edition Galaxy Z Fold5 and the Galaxy Watch6, the electronics giant and American fashion designer collaborated on a set of foldables and wearables in 2020 and 2021.
Galaxy Z Fold5 Thome Browne Edition
Similar to the previous Thom Browne Edition series, this year's foldable pays homage to the fashion house's signature elements. The sleek exterior has been enhanced with a bevy of designs featuring Thom Browne’s signature red, white, and blue stripes, as well as black pebble leather and grosgrain details on the cover.
The limited-edition Galaxy Z Fold5 also comes with fabric texture etched on the back glass, and an accentuating black frame and gold hinge. Taking inspiration from a black-tie event, the phone's rear cameras also exude elegance with its rear cameras embellished with gold rings.
Adding more premiumness to the handset is its two distinct leather pouch cases and special edition S Pen.
Moreover, the collaboration doesn’t end with just the product either as the packaging of the Galaxy Z Fold5 Thom Browne Edition comes with the iconic Thom Browne briefcase designed for long-term use as a memento.
Galaxy Watch6 Thom Browne Edition
The Galaxy Watch 6, meanwhile, features a graceful gold-tone body, a special complementary watch face, and the Thom Browne logo engraved on the side.
Thom Browne’s red, white, and blue colors have also been applied to the buckle for an extra sophisticated look.
It also comes with two leather straps: one with black pebble leather and the other with red, white, and blue stripes brimming with Thom Browne’s trademark influence.
The Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Watch 2023 Thom Browne Edition began selling on Sept. 12 on the Samsung website and select stores in the country.
