Beatrice Luigi Gomez looked like a goddess in gold as she walked the pageant stage on Monday, Dec. 13 for the evening gown competition of the 70th Miss Universe.

Showing the tattoo on her sleeve that she got to celebrate her womanhood, the Philippines’ Miss U bet left the audience in awe as she showed up in a shimmering gold gown with a thigh-high slit. It was designed by renowned Filipino designer Francis Libiran, who also worked his brilliance on the contestant during the preliminaries.

She opted to rock her striking ensemble with smoky makeup and her signature straight hair.

Minutes after her stunning moment onstage, Libiran briefly shared in an Instagram post the process of creating Gomez's evening gown. "In the old days, the Visayan tribes had tattoos called Pintados indented all over their bodies whenever they went to war as a symbol of valor. These patterns were embroidered and meshed with Francis Libiran’s signature art deco details on this magnificent gown of Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez’s Iridescent crystals were delicately hand-sewn to add extravagance to the piece," he wrote in the caption.

In a previous interview, Libiran revealed that he took inspiration from Gomez in designing the latter’s gowns for the tilt. “You know, dressing up Bea is such a privilege and I really enjoyed it because I studied how Bea’s personality is,” he said. “My inspiration is more of the person. I did not get any theme from nature or what but it’s more about the person. So Bea is my inspiration in designing all these gowns.”

Streaming on A2Z channel 11 and the Miss Universe organization’s official YouTube page, the 70th edition of the tilt is being held in Eilat, Israel.

Gomez is hoping to bag the fifth Miss Universe crown for the country.
