Calling all queens! Miss Universe Philippines will start looking for its next queen this February
Think you have what it takes to become the next beauty queen to represent the Philippines in Miss Universe 2022?
The Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) organization announced on Jan. 3 that it will start screening aspiring queens this February for its upcoming April pageant.
"Get your profiles and papers ready, aspiring queens! We're brewing something phenomenal," the organization captioned in its post.
MUP has yet to announce requirements to join the contest but in 2021, the organization updated age requirements for entrants, opening it up for applicants from 18 to 28 years of age.
Other previous requirements include:
- Must be a Filipino citizen and a Philippine passport holder
- At least high school graduate
- No height requirement
- Female, never been married nor had borne children
The Miss Universe Philippines 2021 coronation night was held on Sept. 30, 2021 in Bohol. Beatrice Luigi Gomez of Cebu City won the competition and represented the country in the international version of the pageant held in Eliat, Israel. Gomez finished in the Top 5, with India's Harnaaz Sandhu taking home the coveted crown.
