‘We’re so proud of you’: Beatrice Gomez congratulates Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu with a hug

Beatrice Gomez may not have brought home the Miss Universe crown, but she’s still a queen through and through. 

Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Gomez sent her love to the newly crowned Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu after the pageant’s coronation night.

The heartwarming moment between the two queens was posted by Miss Universe Philippines creative director Jonas Gaffud on his Instagram Stories, Tuesday, Dec. 13. 

Pageant site Pageanthology 101 reposted the video on their Facebook page. 

As seen in the video, Gomez dropped by what looks like Sandhu’s hotel room to give a hug and express how she and the other candidates were “very proud” of the Indian queen’s win. 

“Nandia (Miss Universe Singapore 2021), Sujita (Miss Universe Nepal 2021), and I were very proud of you,” Gomez told Sandhu. 

“Oh, I love you,” Sandhu replied. Gomez said the same to the Indian queen in return, asking if she had talked to her family since her coronation. 

“I did but you know, since day one, I’ve been so fond of you and you know that,” Sandhu gushed. 

In a Dec. 13 interview with sports journalist Dyan Castillejo, Gomez revealed that Sandhu is one of her roommates in the pageant. “Si Miss India, she’s one of our roommates, and we all knew na siya po talaga ‘yung mananalo. We’re all rooting for her kasi nga she works really hard and there are even times na sobrang pressured na tinutulungan namin siya. So, we’re very happy for her.”

Sandhu was crowned by her predecessor Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza of Mexico in Eliat, Israel on Monday, Dec. 13. Meanwhile, Gomez finished in the top five.
