‘UBS House of Craft x Dior’: Carine Roitfeld and Brigitte Niedermair bring couture artistry to Singapore

When fashion meets fine art, the result can feel like alchemy—a fleeting moment where imagination, precision, and legacy converge. This November, that moment arrives in Singapore as “UBS House of Craft x Dior” makes its Asian debut at the New Art Museum Singapore from Nov. 21 to 23.

Following a triumphant New York premiere, this immersive exhibition, curated by Carine Roitfeld and conceived by Brigitte Niedermair, celebrates the artistry and innovation that have defined Dior for nearly eight decades. Guests can trace the house’s creative evolution through seven visionary designers: Christian Dior (the 1947 New Look), Yves Saint Laurent (youthful modernity), Marc Bohan (timeless elegance), Gianfranco Ferré (architectural grandeur), John Galliano (theatrical flair), Raf Simons (minimalist emotion), and Maria Grazia Chiuri (feminist vision), alongside a tribute to Kim Jones, creative force behind Dior Men.

At the heart of House of Craft is the collaboration of two women who shaped fashion’s visual language. Roitfeld, former Vogue Paris editor-in-chief and founder of CR Fashion Book, brings her editorial elegance to the curation. Niedermair, with a 12-year relationship with Dior, transforms fashion’s tactile poetry into striking photographic form.

Together, they resurrect Dior’s archives in a dialogue that is both reverent and radical. “This alliance celebrates excellence, haute couture elegance, and Dior’s exceptional savoir-faire since the New Look in 1947,” said Olivier Bialobos, deputy managing director for global communication and image at Dior. “Carine Roitfeld’s expertise, combined with Brigitte Niedermair’s talent, highlights our timeless heritage and ever-reinvented creativity.”

More than an exhibition, ”UBS House of Craft” is a statement of philosophy. For UBS, craft is embedded in precision, patience, and purpose—the hallmarks of excellence across disciplines.

“Singapore’s intersection of heritage and innovation provides the perfect backdrop for celebrating craftsmanship,” says Jin Yee Young, co-head of UBS Global Wealth Management Asia Pacific and country head of UBS Singapore. “We are delighted to partner with Dior and Roitfeld to showcase the precision, dedication, and artistry that define both our crafts.”

The Singapore program transforms House of Craft into an experiential journey with talks, panels, and workshops connecting artisans, collectors, and connoisseurs. Guests can experience heritage and innovation through Niedermair’s photography, Roitfeld’s curation, and Dior’s creations.

Access is free and open to the public, with registration via ubs.com/hoc-sg. For three days, the New Art Museum Singapore becomes a temple of craft, where couture meets thought and legacy is re-spun for a new generation.
