GALLERY: Miss Universe 2022 candidates showcase personalized capes in preliminary swimsuit competition
Nothing exudes confidence and body positivity more than seeing the 86 delegates of the 71st Miss Universe heat up the stage during the pageant’s swimsuit competition, this time with their personalized capes.
Wearing Jojo Bragais shoes, the queens—whose hearts are set on the new “Force for Good” crown—sashayed their way around the runway and made a spectacle of their dazzling figures at the Miss Universe 2022 preliminary competition in New Orleans on January 12.
As they graced the stage with their fiery presence, each queen had their own way of turning up the temperature with their presentation and attitude as hosts news anchor Randi Rousseau and Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu shared some facts about them.
In a new addition to the preliminary round, the women wore elegant capes that were either designed by themselves or with the help of an artist from their country. The capes showcased a variety of one-of-a-kind imagery, ranging from the fascinating cultures of the cadidates to powerful messages and advocacies that they are fighting for.
