This Balenciaga reversible parka looks like the everyday high-visibility jacket, and it costs $3,750 or P189,000

Included in Balenciaga Autumn/Winter 2021 collection is a men’s reversible padded parka, which has an undeniable resemblance to a high-visibility jacket, worn mostly by outdoor workers on mild days or winter time.

The price? $3,750 or about P189,000.

Online retailer FarFetch said in its description of the product, “For AW21, Balenciaga staged a dystopian collection, where the looks represented a sort of armor for everyday life.”

The reversible parka in neon yellow technical ripstop has a cozy cocoon shape and is meant to have an oversize fit. Available sizes on the website are 44 to 46 or XS to Small.

Made in Italy, the parka features black contrast lining, concealed zipped closure with snaps, two slash pockets, foldable hood with drawstrings, and of course for bragging’s sake, a sporty B artwork embroidered at the chest and printed on the back, “BLNCG.”

It is 100-percent polyester and is a dry-clean-only item.

Of course, netizens had a field day poking fun at the reversible jacket.

One said, “My dad had this jacket when he was a construction worker.”

“3k to look like a builder,” another one quipped.

Despite its price, some pointed out that people will still buy the parka.

“Bob the Builder wanna buy this now,” a commenter said, referring to the character in the British animated show of the same name.

Don’t have $3,750 to cozy up in a reversible parka? Do a quick Google search for high-visibility jacket, and you’ll see that can cop the Balenciaga parka for a fraction of its price.
