LOOK: Tracy Maureen Perez serves goddess vibes in her National Costume for Miss World

Published Dec 14, 2021 3:05 pm

Tracy Maureen Perez looked like an enchanting goddess in her latest photo shoot for Miss World.

Ahead of the coronation night this Friday, Dec. 17,  the beauty queen shared photos of herself wearing a jewel-encrusted purple dress and floral headpiece.

In the caption, Perez explained the meaning of her costume, Mayari.

"Moon Goddess and daughter of Bathala. Hailed as the most beautiful deity, she has complete dominion of the world at night. The moon has been revered as a celestial being by most ancient civilizations in antiquity. Apart from its mysterious allure, it has also been though to have great cosmic influence on the mortal realm," she wrote.

The designer, Axel Que, also shared a series of photos of Perez wearing his creation and said that he included "a lot of traditional forms" as seen in the base silhouette, but also exaggerated the cuts and sleeves to give the costume more character.

He used white and purple moon flowers as embellisments which he made from scratch, and used gradient shading in the middle for depth. Que also used pearls and tassels in the hemlines.

To complete the look, Team Style It PH made Perez wear custom earrings by Christopher Munar and shoes by Jojo Bragais.

Makeup artist Japeth Mike Purog opted for a peachy makeup on the lips, eyes, and cheeks, while hairstylist MJ Rone kept Perez's straight hair so as not to overpower the floral headpiece.

Perez is set to compete at the upcoming finals night this Dec. 17 (Philippine time). She is vying to be the second Filipina to win the Miss World crown after 2013’s Megan Young.
