As much as we love our clothes and our beauty products, it's time to make better choices and consider their impact on our environment before we check out our carts.
But times are changing—and for a good reason. As majority of shoppers are becoming more conscious about their consumption—not to mention the growing concern on global warming—brands are stepping up and taking environmental responsibility seriously, pushing sustainable efforts to help protect the environment.
Here, we list down some brands that are campaigning for Mother Earth.
Run for fitness and the environment? Count us in! Adidas and Parley are hosting their fourth Run for the Oceans on May 28 to June 8 as an initiative to push their campaign in solving marine plastic pollution in the oceans.
For every kilometer that you run between those dates via the Adidas Running app (Strava/Joyrun), Adidas and Parley will clean up the equivalent weight of 10 plastic bottles, up to a maximum of 500,000 lbs. of marine plastic waste from beaches, remote islands, and coastlines.
If that doesn't amaze you yet, then read this: Adidas was able to raise $2.5 million to help Parley continue its initiatives and educational programs, allowing 70,000 kids and families opportunities to participate in their educational programs. Not to mention, the sportswear brand has already made more than 30 million pairs of shoes with Parley Ocean Plastic since 2015—what a way to make trash into treasure!

There's a growing host of footwear brands working to create a more sustainable solution to fashion, and one brand that's passionate about promoting sustianable manufacturing is Ipanema. Now, for the first time ever, they have released their first 100% recyclable flipflops that's also made of 100% recyclable materials.
The Ipanema Confetti (P1,795) thong slippers features a rounded toe, textured sole, adjustable ankle straps, and a print that says "100% recycled." According to its press release, the Brazilian footwear brand belives that "fashion brands have the ability to create beautiful, wearable and durable products that are produced ethically, with a reduced impact on the environment and a lasting contribution to the welfare of their employees and the communities within which they belong."
Skincare is life, but have you ever thought about how it affects the environment? Just imagine the amount of trash you will contribute from the products that you own. And while we can't exactly recycle or repurpose them all on our own, Shiseido is making a sustainable effort by improving the packaging of its best-selling product, Ultimune. The Japanese beauty brand has made its packaging better by using a recyclable glass, and a reusable bottle cap for continuous use. Recently, too, they held a Beauty Exchange program wherein you could exchange your empty makeup or skincare bottles for GCs.
