Bench dominates the 74th Miss Universe stage
Following the successful conclusion of the 74th Miss Universe pageant in Bangkok, global lifestyle brand Bench celebrates its pivotal role as the event’s official swimwear sponsor. This landmark partnership delivered on its promise to redefine pageant fashion, weaving world-class Filipino design with universal themes of empowerment and cultural respect on the global stage.
Executed during both the Preliminary Competition and the Coronation Night at the Impact Challenger Hall, the collaboration showcased Bench’s ability not only to dress the world’s most dynamic women but to equip them with pieces engineered for confidence, strength, and purpose.
A triumph of design and advocacy
Bench unveiled two bespoke collections, each praised for its innovative fusion of high-fashion aesthetics and powerful storytelling:
The “Power of Love” Collection. Presented during the Preliminary Competition, this highly anticipated line generated significant media attention for its bold use of the seven colors of the LGBTQIA+ flag. The collection stood as a clear, resonant statement from Bench and the Miss Universe Organization on inclusivity—celebrating love in all its forms and setting a progressive new benchmark for global pageantry. Dressing 120 delegates, it became one of the most widely viewed swimsuit segments in recent Miss Universe history.
The “Sky of Thailand” Collection. Unveiled during the glittering Coronation Night, this collection paid homage to the host nation. Drawing inspiration from the Thai national flag, the pieces were elevated with intricate embellishments by renowned Filipino designer Neric Beltran, who incorporated motifs inspired by the Ratchaphruek (Golden Shower Tree). The artistic collaboration honored Thai heritage while showcasing the sophistication of Filipino craftsmanship before an audience of billions. The collection was worn by the Top 30 finalists, giving Filipino artistry a prominent place on the Miss Universe global stage.
Engineered for global impact
Designed with form, function, and fearless self-expression in mind, the swimwear utilized performance textiles and expertly contoured cuts to achieve a flawless “second-skin” fit. The collections ensured delegates felt strong, supported, and empowered—reinforcing Bench’s message that modern swimwear is constructed for confidence, allowing each woman’s inner strength to shine.
A historic partnership
Bench’s strategic involvement underscores its evolution from a local fashion leader into a global cultural force. The successful execution of this sponsorship strengthened the brand’s standing as a champion of Filipino ingenuity and a meaningful voice in international advocacy.
“This partnership proves one thing: Filipino design is world-class,” says Ben Chan, chairman and founder of Bench.
Building on the momentum of this historic collaboration, Bench remains committed to innovation, diversity, and excellence in design.
Select pieces from the preliminary swimsuit collection will be on display at Bench SM Mall of Asia and Bench One Ayala starting in the last week of November.
