LOOK: Miss Universe 2021 winner to wear the $5 million 'Power of Unity' crown
The Mouawad co-guardians are excited to meet the next Miss Universe queen who will be wearing the Power of Unity crown.
“We look forward to welcoming the next woman who will bring her unique qualities to perpetuating the legacy of Miss Universe while creating a new, sparkling chapter in the journey of the Mouawad Power of Unity Crown,” they said in a statement.
It was in 2019 when Miss Universe Organization tapped the Swiss and Emirati jewelry brand to create a one-of-a-kind $5-million crown called the Power of Unity Crown.
The headpiece, which features 1,725 white diamonds and three golden canary diamonds, was "designed and hand crafted by Mouawad to carry with it a message that reflects the values of the Miss Universe Organization."
"The Power of Unity Crown’s natural motifs of petals, leaves and vines represent the community of women from around the world whose bonds unite them, and its shield-like centerpiece reminding us that we are stronger together than apart," it says on its website.
The crown’s centerpiece is a modified mixed cut golden canary diamond which Mouawad said weighs over 62 carats.
The crown will we be worn for the third time by the 2021 Miss Universe winner who will be announced on Monday, Dec. 13 (Philippine time).
It was Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa who first wore the crown when she won in 2019, followed by reigning beauty queen Andrea Meza of Mexico in May 2021.
