A Philippine french fries brand is back to making rounds online but this time, for an unexpected collaboration with a global fashion house.

On Sept. 5, Potato Corner announced on social media that it has teamed up with Uniqlo Philippines to launch a set of limited-edition T-shirts and tote bags.

"We are thrilled to announce our exciting partnership with the renowned global clothing brand, UNIQLO. Potato Corner has been featured in Uniqlo Philippines' latest UT ME! collection of back-to-school designs that cater to everyone’s style. 🤩" the post read.

The collection features white shirts and bags decorated with the food brand's potato mascot and signature green pantone. Apart from the the pre-made variants, customers can also express their love for fries by creating their own custom-made t-shirts and tote bags.

The collection is exclusively available at the Uniqlo Manila Global Flagship Store in Glorietta 5 in Makati.

Potato Corner's announcement has so far earned 762 shares and 718 comments—mostly messages of excitement—since the brand posted it this afternoon.

The launch comes two weeks after the fries chain went viral for its job posting with qualifications seemingly akin to those of a beauty pageant, particularly Miss Universe, according to social media users. The brand issued an apology on Aug. 21, calling the move and the fiasco it has caused an “embarrassing moment."

Apart from the local french fries chain, Uniqlo has previously partnered with other Filipino brands for its UT Me! shirts, such as Auro Chocolate, TRINKETS, FRNK Milk Bar, and Squad Skates, among others.
