If there’s one fashion tip we’ve picked up from Belle Mariano, it’s that neutral pieces are must-have items in your closet. They can be dressed up and down, make you look taller, and add an extra dose of sophistication to your outfits. 

Mariano, a self-confessed outfit repeater, revealed in a vlog that she’s a fan of neutral colors since they go well with anything. “Hindi naman porket nasuot mo na ‘yung outfit na ‘to, hindi mo na pwedeng suotin next time, diba? Okay lang umulit ng outfit,” she added.

White tank top

For Mariano, a white tank top is a must-have item because it “goes well with everything.” It also acts as the perfect base for your outfit since it can be used as a standout piece or a canvas for layering.

Of course, you can never go wrong with a good old white shirt. Mariano said it’s best to have white shirts in different textures since it’s a good piece to mix and match.  

White button-down 

 

Don’t underestimate the versatility of a white button-down. The teen star shared that she’s a huge fan of this piece, saying she wears it to the beach, casual, or formal events. She also loves to pair it with trousers, skirts, or jeans.  

Neutral coat

A fan of neutrals, Mariano said her coats come in shades of gray, black, and beige. The coat is one of her favorite pieces for layering since she usually pairs it with a white tank top.

Beige trousers

Trousers are not just a nine-to-five closet item—they can be worn on different occasions and be paired with many pieces. For Mariano, beige trousers are a must-have item because “any top will do” and it makes your outfits “look nice.”

White jeans

There’s something about well-fitted white jeans that add a touch of freshness to your outfit. Plus, it’s a versatile staple that can be worn in casual hangs, date nights, or classy events. Since Mariano is fond of pairing her white jeans with white tops, she advised her followers to add a statement piece to make their ‘fits stand out. 

Brown or black handbag

Handbags come in many colors, but having one (or two) in brown or black goes well with different types of looks. Plus, Mariano said it’s a staple that’s perfect for mixing and matching. 

White rubber shoes

White rubber shoes are easy to style and endlessly versatile. This explains why Mariano loves to pair her white kicks with “almost all" of her outfits, especially when she’s up for something casual.
