If finding love is on your wish list this Lunar New Year, now is the perfect time to prepare your space and set the stage for attracting luck in matters of the heart.
Feng shui coaches Johnson Chua and Jean Chua shared with PhilSTAR L!fe some items you should have in your bedroom and where to place them so you can get lucky in love.
Horse images
To activate love luck in the Year of the Fire Horse, Johnson said it’s important to strengthen your network and friendships first.
"Imposible naman tayo makahanap kaagad ng loved one nang hindi muna natin ginawang kaibigan," he told L!fe.
For starters, Johnson suggested placing horse images in the center or southeast part of the house as they are believed to attract a successful network or better connections with people.
Mandarin Ducks
You can also put images or figurines of Mandarin Ducks in the northeast sector to attract romantic love. According to Jean, these symbolize "enduring love, conjugal fidelity, and harmonious partnerships."
Johnson added that Mandarin Ducks are the ultimate symbol for lasting romance and finding The One. For maximum effect, place them alongside peach blossom animals to supercharge your luck.
"Put it on the northeast sector because northeast is where the love energy is, an ideal way to attract good partners," Johnson said, adding you can also place them in the east or west sector. In the west, include something red, like an apple, since the color attracts good marriage.
"[It] will boost harmony and peace for the couple to avoid quarrels and misunderstandings, while also protecting [them] against infidelity," he said.
Love bracelet
Jean also suggests wearing a Love and Harmony charm bracelet to "enhance harmony, passion, and emotional balance." You can also wear a nine-tailed fox charm amulet to spark love, passion, and romance in your life while shielding it from third-party interference.
Yue Lao
Another image you could include in your space is Yue Lao, the Chinese deity believed to unite destined couples with an invisible red string.
"[It] activates the good fortune of happiness in love and marriage," Jean told L!fe.
Pink crystals
Placing pink crystals, like rose quartz, rhodonite, rhodochrosite, morganite, and kunzite, near you may also be used to attract love.
"Lahat sila are related to the heart energy. So, if you use them, it will enhance your lovable energy," Johnson said.
Other tips to keep in mind
Per Johnson, you must be clear with your goal before activating love energy: Is it to find love? Is it to take your relationship to the next level? Is it to up the romance? Is it to avoid arguments?
"Kapag kulang ka nun, you're attracting love, pero mali pala yung way of attracting love... So, the manifestation doesn't work," he said.
If you need clarity in determining your goal in love, Johnson suggested getting blue crystals like aquamarine and lapis.
Above all, it's important to have total alignment between the mind and heart. Make no room for negativity if you want to see real results.
"So kailangan, you need love and you want it. Kasi pagka-pareho mong na-align yung dalawa, it's called manifestation. Because gina-ground ka niya to the reality that you really need it and you want it," Johnson said. "Pag na-detect ng items mo 'yun, may clarity ka na, then ma-manifest na niya agad din. Mabilis niyang ibigay sa'yo."
Placement is also everything. Johnson stressed that if you want to specifically target your love life, these items must be kept in the bedroom—otherwise, your love luck and energy could be intercepted by other members of the household.
