Next stop: college.

Some celebrity moms are shedding a few tears as their children leave their nest and are off to college abroad this year. While a milestone like this is often filled with joy and excitement, it can also bring sadness to parents who proudly watch their kids start new lives as independent young adults.

Below, we listed down some celebrity kids who are entering college this year.

Ina Raymundo and daughter Erika Rae Portunak

Ina Raymundo shared a video of her eldest daughter Erika Rae Poturnak hugging her younger siblings before she goes to college in the USA. Last May 21, Raymundo shared that her daughter got accepted to the second most prestigious music school in the US, Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

"It’s bittersweet to see my firstborn leave for college. Well, goodbye for now @erikarae.p. We will miss you and your craziness. We love you, ate and we wish you all the best," she wrote in her latest post.

Sharon Cuneta and daughter Frankie Pangilinan

Two days ago, Sharon Cuneta expressed her sadness via social media over missing her second daughter, Frankie "Kakie" Pangilinan who left to New York for College.

"Today is actually a very sad day for our whole family," the Mega Star wrote. "My Kakie, my Baba, is flying back to New York right about now…& if my heart had already been breaking for days over her leaving and other matters, today it is in pieces," she said.

"Whenever a child of yours—especially one so loving & with such a pure and good heart leaves, she takes a big piece of your heart with her," Cuneta added.

She continued that she "worries," too, for her youngest daughter Miel, who is very close to her sister Kakie, as they've gotten closer over the pandemic. "As a mother, my heart is full because of their very special, unbreakable bond. But it is heartbreaking to see your bunso baby girl hurt and try to stay strong knowing that her Ate isn’t going to be there everyday anymore, at least until Christmas," she wrote.

The Mega Star shared that she had been "bawling over missing her and feeling her absence," but asks her daughter to take care of herself while she's there.

Daphne Oseña-Paez and daughter Sophia Paez

Host Daphne Oseña-Paez's daughter Sophia Paez is bound for college in University of Toronto in Canada. Sharing a reel on Instagram, she wrote, "My first Reels. Approved by Sophia. The mother, though, still struggling with both Reels and real life."

While she says it's "hard to let go," Oseña-Paez wrote a short but heartfelt message for her daughter saying that seeing her acheive her "childhood dream" makes her a proud parent.

"God be with you through this next phase and onwards. Welcome to the alma mater, Sophia. May you love this as much as I still do. Velut arbor aevo."

Temporary goodbyes are always hard. Andres Muhlach, son of Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzalez, may have spent his summer break in the Philippines, but his parents has to bid good bye again as he leaves for Spain to continue his schooling.

"Be inspired & inspire. Spread your wings and continue to fly.. Continue to praise, glorify & put God in the center of all that you do… ♥️?♥️ love you very much, Andres."

Earlier this January, Gonzalez posted a message for her son telling him to "have the best time" of his life and to "continue to make lasting memories."

She continued: "As you leave for college today in Spain, know that we love you very much and we are super proud of you Andres. It was a very difficult decision to make (especially during this global pandemic for you to be on campus) but you really wanted to continue your studies on campus and as parents we will be here to support & guide you every step of the way."
