Quezon City's PWD residents can now get free mental health medication from LGU

Attention, Quezon City residents: you can now get maintenance medicine for your mental health conditions for free from your barangay health center.

The QC government made the announcement about the free medication on Aug. 8 on Facebook.

All you'll need is to bring your persons with disabilities (PWD) ID and your doctor's prescription to the health center.

Here are the free medication offered by the local government unit:

  • Clozapine 100 mg tablets
  • Biperiden 2 mg tablets
  • Chlorpromazine 100 mg tablets
  • Lithium Carbonate 450 mg tablets
  • Sertraline 50 mg tablets
  • Escitalophram Oxalate 10 mg tablets
  • Quetiapine 200 mg tablets
  • Valproic acid tablets

The Quezon City General Hospital (QCGH) Psychiatry Department is also accepting online consultations, and you can set an appointment by sending a message to their Facebook page. You can get prescriptions and medical certificates at QCGH for a P40 fee.

Meanwhile, you can get a PWD ID by registering at your LGU's Persons with Disability Office. Those with psychosocial, mental, hearing, visual, learning, speech, and orthopedic disabilities are qualified for a PWD ID.
