‘It’s unfair if I don’t have a say’: Kylie Padilla admits being hurt over Aljur Abrenica’s ‘tell them who cheated first’ post

Kylie Padilla maintained that she never had “any extramarital relationships with other men,” as a response to her ex-husband Aljur Abrenica’s now-deleted “tell them who cheated first” post on Facebook.

Last week, Abrenica dropped a bombshell urging Padilla to “tell the truth” about their separation. He then appealed to his wife to “tell them who cheated first” and reveal “who wrecked our family.”

In an exclusive interview with Jessica Soho on Sunday, Oct. 24, Padilla admitted that she was shocked about Abrenica’s post. “‘Yung mga lumabas na statement, medyo nagulat din ako. It’s unfair if I don’t have a say because I was part of the marriage, dalawa kami. Gusto ko matapos ‘yung nangyari sa amin na friends kami. ‘Bat parang nag-iba yung ihip ng hangin?”

Padilla said that she has a lot of dirty laundry to reveal about Abrenica, but she chose to “keep quiet about the details” since it wouldn’t help them move forward. “Hindi naman makakatulong sa amin eh. He knows what he did wrong, I know what I did wrong.”

The actress also admitted that she felt hurt when her ex-husband accused her of wrecking “the family” since they initially agreed to do an interview together after their breakup. “At least after nito, kahit maghihiwalay na tayo, we're still a united front. Family pa kami,” she explained.

“I know my truth eh. I know what I went through, and I know what he went through. And ang alam ko lang, parehas kaming hindi masaya. And if we played the blaming game, what are we gonna get (from) attacking each other online? I mean, who is it helping. Let's do it in court na lang kung gusto mo ng ganyang labanan,” she added.

‘I never had any extramarital relationships with other men’

Padilla defended herself from accusations that she cheated “with other men” while she was “formally married” to Abrenica. “Okay sana kung ginawa ko eh... pero hindi talaga eh. And that’s what they keep throwing at me. Paano ako aamin sa bagay na hindi ko naman ginawa.”

The actress expressed her frustration about alleged blind items about her for allegedly cheating on her husband.

“Kung totoo talaga, aamin ako. But like, hindi siya totoo kaya natatawa na lang ako. Paano magkakaroon ng oras, I was breastfeeding my second… kung gusto niyo ng ebidensya, tanungin niyo rin ‘yung mga yaya ko,” she said.

Padilla also denied speculations romantically linking her to actor JM de Guzman. “Actually, nag-usap na kami ni JM diyan. Natatawa din kami, parang ‘Wow, paano nasali pangalan ko diyan... Pasensya na.’”

Despite feeling angry over the allegations, Padilla said she wants to be strong for “my children.” “Gaya ng sinabi ko kanina, humuhugot ako ng lakas sa kanila. Kailangan makita nila na, ‘Kung kaya ng mom ko, kaya ko rin.’”

‘I actually wanted to talk to her’

Padilla revealed that she “actually wanted to talk” to AJ Raval, who got involved in the issue as well. On Thursday, Oct. 21, Raval explained on Tiktok that she got carried away by emotions when she shared Abrenica’s controversial post.

“I actually wanted to talk to her kasi napagdaanan ko rin ‘yan, ‘yung binabash ako dahil nililigawan ako. I wanted to talk to her to help her out on how to handle it para maiwasan ‘yung nangyayari ngayon,’” Padilla said.

Padilla, however, wished that the 21-year-old actress should’ve been more careful. “I wish iningatan na lang nila. They can't blame me for that too, kasi we had an agreement na we can both see other people. I wish you guys were more careful, don't blame it on me."

‘Cheating was just the last straw’

Padilla explained that she chose to end her marriage with Abrenica because “she felt alone” for the “longest time,” and “cheating was just the last straw.” Despite this, she hoped their friendship would be saved.

“Huwag nating kalimutan to be parents sa mga anak natin. And sana ma-save pa natin yung friendship after this and kung gusto natin magaway or whatever, let's do it in the right place, huwag na sa public. 'Yun lang yung hinihingi ko,” she added.

BB Gandanghari, the aunt of Padilla, recently gave her two cents on the couple’s split on Instagram. While she doesn’t know the full context of their separation, she advised them to “keep things in private as much as possible.”

“Ang paghihiwalay is not a joke, masakit ‘yan. If there’s one thing, ang masasabi ko, try to keep your dirty linens in the washroom, if you know what I mean… Try to keep things in private as much as possible kasi may mga anak kayo, so ‘yun lang. I think what they need to think about now are the children,” she said.

Padila and Abrenica tied the knot in December 2018. They have two children Alas and Axl.
