'Those are the things you want to keep private': Kylie Padilla on exes and the struggles of having her love life in the public eye

With her past relationship with Aljur Abrenica making rounds online, Kylie Padilla opened up about the struggles of having her love life in the public eye in the latest episode of the Lecheng Pag-ibig To! podcast uploaded Oct. 20.

"Noong una, I enjoyed it. It’s nice to share the good moments sa relationship mo. It’s nice to share positivity," she told podcast hosts Sam YG and DJ Chacha.

"But when push comes to shove and things are going downhill na, 'yun 'yung 'di masaya kasi those are the things you want to keep private na. Sana wala na masyadong makikialam kasi mahirap na nga yung sitwasyon tapos you’re inviting that pa."

The best thing to do talaga minsan is to keep quiet.

Padilla said that she reached a point where she got annoyed about her public breakup with Abrenica in July with people speculating what caused their split.

"Ayoko nang ganito kalaking responsibility (explaining the breakup to the public). [I just want to] let myself be human kasi ang daming nakatingin and I don’t like it anymore," she said.

For the 28-year-old actress, the best thing to do is keep breakups private.

"The best thing to do talaga minsan is to keep quiet. 'Di ko naman intention to take people to my side. I won’t get anything out of it. The best takeaway is to move forward," she said.

Exes and woes

During the episode, the hosts also asked if Padilla ever encountered dating someone her parents didn't approve of. She shared that she did get into relationships that her dad, Robin Padilla, did not like.

"Diniretso niya ako. Sabi lang niya, 'mag-iingat ka anak,'" she said.

Padilla was then asked if Robin ever said anything like "manloloko 'yan" or "babaero yan," to which she reluctantly said, "wala naman" followed by a noise that made DJ Chacha jokingly question the answer.

Robin earlier confirmed his daughter's separation in July and even said it was caused by infidelity.

Abrenica disputed this in his viral Facebook post and asked Padilla to "tell them who cheated first."

Princess Paulino, the actress' cousin, called Abrenica out on the allegations and said that Padilla never cheated on him.

The post, which has now been taken down, was shared online by the Facebook page Kapamilya Online World.

"You cheated on her multiple times and we all know that. Stop your lies. It is not her fault why you have a lot of bashers. It was your choice to flaunt your new girlfriend in public, not hers," she wrote in a Facebook post on Oct. 20.

"When Tito Robin spoke about your cheating, Kylie did not know about it. She even felt bad," Paulino revealed.
